Solid Foods and Diapers

Diaper_Liners_Flushable_Liners__Baby_200Now that solid foods are in the mix, diapering gets a little more interesting. So far what I’ve decided to do is put a lining in the diaper that is flushable when dirty. I purchased a liner from Banana Peels Diapers. The liners I bought are called Imse Vimse flushable liners, they are unbleached and biodegradable. The great part about them is that you can flush the dirty ones and wash and reuse the wet ones. The package says that they can be reused up to three times.

I was concerned about the liners causing a problem for others watching Connor, but it turns out it is simple. I simply place a clean liner in the clean diapers and pack them up in the diaper bag. The only extra step required is that if the diaper is dirty the liner must be flushed, otherwise if they are only wet they are thrown in the wet bag for me to wash. So far so good, I will update if I try any other methods, or please let me know what works for you!!

I read your post about how you had blockage problems which led you to hook up a diy sprayer. Did you mean that it was these liners [Imse Vimse] or the Bummis liners that you think caused the problem? We also live in an older house and I don’t want to make the same mistake

Absolutely! It was the liners we pulled out when we ran a snake through the sewer pipe! They may be biodegradable, but not that quickly!! I’m sure any old house that has old pipes would clog as well…go for the diaper sprayer its less of a hassle anyway!
